Bursters unlock the weapon system of the same name, Bursters(weapon) for use in any large weapon mount. This node is the first in the Ballistics Weapons tree which unlocks a weapon more useful for crowd control than damage dealing, though Bursters can do passable damage at great ranges if used correctly. The weapon itself is a refinement of the projectile rather than the propulsion system, essentially packing 12 Gauss Cannons into a bullet, taping a timer to it, and shooting them out a much larger Gauss Cannon.
Bursters can cost as much as 90,000 or as little as 30,000 research points, depending on chance.
